Pretty useless app
I only have the LG TV on this app, but the app does not seem to be very responsive. Not sure if anyone else has this issue but this problem persisted quite awhile. I got to say, it really frustrated me enough to give this app a 1 star review :)

The App itself is good but my side by side fridge are lacking controls using this app. I hope LG adds up more options to configure my fridge using this app. Overall is ok.

What went wrong?
I use LG ThinQ app to link my dishwasher to my phone. The app would remind me to add rinse aid, dishwasher salt and even perform machine wash after 30 cycles. When it is time to perform any of the actions mentioned above, the dishwasher would also notify me by blinking the individual indicator light. Somehow, after using the app for 6 months, this function suddenly disappeared. I now have no idea if I should add rinse aid or dishwasher salt. I even have to manually check if it has reached 30 wash cycles before I perform the machine wash. I called in and customer care passes the blame to technician and technician passes the blame of the app. LG doesn’t came up with a concrete plan on how to resolve this matter properly. Everyone in LG is pointing fingers at one another, wonderful.

Even though it’s mentioned on the LG website and in the OM the app doesn’t support dehumidifiers. This category is missing in the product selection and adding by QR code isn’t supported either.

How many times do developers need to go for upgrading classes? Without LG product, do you think these jokers hired by LG to develop the app can remain hired?

Apps not working
Well. After while finally try the thinq apps and the smart features. There’s where LG get a bad review then. No problem for normal usage on the washing machine. But I’ve wasted time just to login into lg account or using my Google account cause the apps just keep asking me to login and not working at all.

Wifi connect is a pain
I don’t really bother giving review but this one deserve. Pain to connect to my dehumidifier. Either prompt as unstable connection or just timeout. Been trying this out for half year. Sometimes got the luck but very rare. Never again. Thanks LG

Impossible to get this app to link to Google Home
I have tried through both the Google Home and Google Assistant apps and, although it is supposed to be supported, there are always errors at the LG ThinQ end. Don’t even bother trying

Remote start does not work when machine is on standby
Since the recent change in App UI look and feel, the remote start function stopped working when machines are on standby. It shows the loading logo and doesn’t start the machine. Have been trying to contact LG support for 1+ months but no assistance provided.

LG has proven its performance on washing machines this is the second time we bought LG. 🤗 We are also amaze when they offer free demo service at our home after we just bought our Front Load washer / dryer 13kg/8kg . This is service with an extra mile. 😍🤗

The recent update feature to add phone number is unusable and keeps logging account out. Plus the one to one support has no use. I have reached out a few times since late last year and till now has no reply.

Update removed ALL past settings
What a BAD update! Latest update destroyed the app and removed all the tediously set up devices. On top of that, it also mandates signing up for a stupid LG account so they can use your information for marketing. ABUSIVE Update. Would stop using LG services for such poor consideration for their customers.

Terrible app. It only connected to my tv once through my mobile. The only thing that works is to turn my tv on and off via my mobile. Waste of space on the phone.

Unable to use after update to latest version on 23 Dec 2021
The T&C had changed and wanted user to accept, however the notification keep popping up. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to go to settings to accept the new changes.
The APP is practically useless now.

Dry only function
My toddler had vomited on my heavy blanket at midnight. I had put the heavy blanket through the Duvet wash cycle. Only later I remembered that I had to put it through the dryer cycle. But by that time i had already completed the wash cycle. I didn’t want to waste water and electricity to put it through the Wash+Dry cycle. Luckily there is a Dry 60 downloadable cycle on the LG ThinQ app. It was good enough to dry my heavy blanket at midnight. The best part is I didn’t have to have a dedicated dryer machine to do the job.

The washer and dryer 2 in 1 we got has a myriad of functions and is a science in itself. Most of us have no idea what differentiates the various washing & drying functions. I know the manual touches on it briefly but there is still so much more to go to understand how to make the best use of our machine. Perhaps more in depth videos with a host or a Q&A that we walk through which then lets us know which function/setting to apply would help. Thanks.

Bought a washer dryer, after setting up was excited to explore the so called “smart” thing. End up is so useless, nothing much can set in the setting, cannot add own preference. Wifi always not able to connect, even is full bar and just 2meter away. As an automation engineer, im seriously boycotting LG from now, advertise as smart, but actually is stupid

Focusing on building smart homes ?
LG says they wanna be in smart homes business but there is no shortcuts for iPhone and Siri recognition. I have LG smart fridge, aircons x4, washer and tv. Function wise LG products are great but app needs improvement. Even small companies can have Siri activated products and have shortcuts for convenience but here there is no. Hopefully it will be available soon. Thank you .

Really useless App.
I am struggling to workout what this App is for; I was hoping for some assistance connecting to an LG TV but after numerous login attempts I finally got logged on, for nothing, no result at all.

Connection between fridge and WiFi kept dropping and it took 10+ attempts to connect. WiFi router is within 3 meters of fridge.
Finally after connecting I get to see how limited the functionality is. Was expecting to create alerts if something happens to the fridge - for example temperature rising or power outage but not available. This would be a huge improvement

App works great when it does. I do think more features are required. Set up was not very intuitive but it is not overly difficult. Also there needs to be a disclaimer that 5gz WiFi isn’t supported.

Not working after the latest update
It did work well, but after the latest update. It keeps showing server failed to connect. No response from the server. Try again later. The app is totally not working. Really bad experience. Hope developers could look into it and fix the issue ASAP.

Very slow and few functionalities.
Updated review. Is there a reason it stores over 100Mb of data on iCloud? I chose to backup to iCloud so it’ll be easier if I choose to change my phone but it’s taking up an unjustifiable amount of storage.
It takes forever to figure out how to get the app to work. If your 4G is not switched off before connecting it’s impossible to connect your device to the app.
This app also has a comparatively much slower loading time when it comes to updating the status of the LG device.
There is also not a lot of features for you to control your device. I have a LG washing machine and it’s awful that if you are controlling it with the limited functions available on the mobile app, you can’t control it on the washing machine itself (have to deactivate remote control).

Resolved IE issue effortlessly.
Mother in law has accidentally turned off the water tap, and the washer wouldn’t start. Problem was diagnosed within minutes of downloading the app.

Could not connect LG GS-6263PZ Refrigerator to iPhone although it shows that my iPhone is connected to the wifi from it under the wifi settings. Really disappointed as I have spent at least half hour trying to resolve this but am always stuck at step 2 connect product....

The most useless app I have ever downloaded
It couldn’t connect to wifi, it either hang / forever loading and draining my phone battery or it just says that I have to re-register an account which I have successfully done so previously. Wasted 1 hour just trying to connect, uninstall and reinstall and trying to connect back. In the end, I gave up on the app. It’s the worst app I have ever downloaded to my phone. Uninstalled forever!

Can’t do anything much for washer
No option to customise wash cycle options even with remote on. If I can put in clothes and configure on the washer itself, i can certainly press start before I leave the house.
App is not as useful as it makes itself out to be.

Totally useless app. Can not connect at all.
I bought the latest Refrigerator yesterday and spent about 1 hour trying to connect to the it. After failing at the step 4 (register the product) at the first try. it stuck at step 3 (Searching my wifi network). So sad there is no negative star I can give it to this app.

No customization of washing preferences
The app can control my twin washers remotely, but cannot allow me to choose my preferences for each category. Instead, it has only prefixed presets to choose from, which is not ideal. Can LG please upgrade the app?
