Please don’t buy this app. I never know that I bought a dictionary app and can only check up on one word a day unless I have to pay for a subscription. I might as well buy a physical book dictionary. Further, the speaking function has been disabled with the new updates unless you buy their subscriptions. Might as well use Google translation app. It’s free and has a speaking capability to use in conjunction with an online dictionary. Same on you! Oxford English Dictionary. Note: Dear Mary-Ann (developer), thank you for your reply. As mentioned in the very first and second statement of my review. Pop up ad prevents me from seeing the meaning of the word
Recently downloaded the app and it was working fine the first few day until today. A pop up ad kept coming in whenever I typed a word and prevents me from seeing the meaning of the word. No matter how many times I closed it, the ad keeps popping out. I always prefer oxford dictionary but will download another one now. This is just a waste of time.

A disappointment.
For some reason, when clicking on a word for its definition an ad pops up and stops me from looking at that word’s definition even after removing the advertising I would still be blocked from reading the definition of the word I was looking for. I have had this issue quite recently, I’ve been using the app for months and never have I ever experienced such an issue. But the definition of the words in the dictionary is very precise, and the app has been working like clockwork until fairly recently.

Wish to have multiple selection options in “favorites”
I use the dictionary to learn words, by marking them as “favorites”, segregating by folders, practicing the pronunciations and reviewing. One inconvenience is there is no multiple selection options. It would be more user-friendly if that could be improved.
The dictionary itself is good. I like the explanation of Greek or Latin root, checking another word meaning by just clicking it.

I am rating this 1-star to make it abundantly clear that I am sick and tired of being pestered by a request for 5-star rating at every turn.
I would greatly appreciate that I as an ordinary, paying customer be left alone and be allowed to use the app in peace and quiet.
It is a form of inexcusable disrespect by a publisher who wants to uphold its reputation as the most respected publisher of THE reference dictionary of the English language.

Disappointed that voice pronunciation is unable to use in phone muted mode.
Very disappointed that the voice pronunciation cannot function when the phone is in “mute” mode. At my work place, phone has to be put on “silent” mode, strictly as required within our work environment. Thus, your app will not be of use to me, if it cannot function in this situation. Would appreciate if you could enhance this feature to enable voice pronunciation to function when phone is in “mute or silent ” mode, as what other dictionaries’ apps could do. Hope you can provide this feature to your users.

Loads up a full screen-ad for every new search query. On top of banner ads. UI fonts lack unity, and interface feels slightly unoptimized.
Definitions are class, as expected from oed, but interface bugbears are a deal-breaker for free-users.

It always takes more than 5-10seconds to load a single definition of word. It's not the signal or wifi because everything else and every other app works perfectly fine.
