Keeps bringing users on a pairing loop
Used to work fine. But now after successfully connecting to app, it says it is ready to use. But does not register on the device list and you have to pair again on a loop.

Excellent kitchen helper
We have had 2 generations of the Anova sous vide sticks.
Had enjoyed literally hundreds of recipes using the stick.
My only beef(pardon the pun) is that there has been consistent connectivity issues between the app and the unit and I’ve had to go manual numerous times.
I hope the engineers at Anova can look into this.
Other than that, fantastic kitchen appliance to have especially during this holiday season..

After adding the subscription to milk more money from existing customers, the app no longer works for my Nano. Not even basic features. Uninstalled.

Terrible Bluetooth Connectivity!!
This pretty App is useless if it can't connect to your Anova device and that's the major failing. It keeps searching for the device and weirdly, when it finds it and tells you the ambient water temperature to match, it then can't connect. I'll have to keep reconnecting and it'll keep saying device can't be found but how can it then know the correct water temperature? I've tried quitting out of the App, tried restarting the Anova, but to no avail. My Bluetooth menu shows that the device IS connected so this clearly is a software bug. Come on, Anova, get your act together!!

Temperature inconsistent
The temperature always changed on its own for no reason. Used Anova recommend recipe but temperature will change from original 60 degree c to 53.5 degree c. Happens all the time!

Why all the data?
Worked fine. Recent update made me sign back up and wants all sorts of information like location, connecting to other devices in network etc. Simple connection to Bluetooth is not made clear. Cooking implement, doesn’t need so much access and info sharing.

Issues with wifi connectivity
Took me 1 hour and I have yet to connect to the cooker to wifi . Tried all the methods stated but yet to work .

Poor start to this device
Had high expectations. Firstly delivered got delay after Xmas. Finally item came. Failed to connect even on 2.4ghz. Restart phone , latest app version , on and off anovA device. Keep asking me to input the 4 digit even after doing so. Scan the wifi diagnostic .. app just say scan. Try to connect manually on wifi setting on phone not app when detected Anova on setting. Ask me enter password. Tried my wifi password tried anovA follow by 4digit.. no avail
Frustrated!! Wasted a piece of my ribeye ..
Have to admit this whole thing got off to a poor start.

EXTREMELY LOUSY PRODUCT
Buy at your own risk. Item I bought could not read current temp in Deg C. It stays at 0 the quality of the brand Anova is simply pathetic and of the lowest quality. Too bad I can’t give a zero star.

Wifi not working

Sick app which lists searing a dog on a hot sidewalk as a recipe
Came across recipes uploaded by the company’s developer telling you how to cook his shoe soles with Anova and another recipe which has a picture of a dog and a description of “searing on a hot sidewalk”. This is SICK!!! Yeah you read it right - the company’s app developer uploaded those recipes. I cannot tell how offended I am by this. It is not a matter of humor, it is simply lack of respect to animals, animal lovers and users of the app. Doesn’t the company have any control on what goes on the app??? Too bad I cannot upload screenshots here but I have submitted the screenshots to Anova now waiting for company’s response.

Tool is great, app not
Difficult to use app to control cooking. Unstable when water bath temperature fluctuates due to heat loss. I just use the dial to set temperature and other device for the timer.

Good equipment. Bad software
The equipment is great. You can cook wonderful food in it. The problem is the app. Lose connection constantly, wireless upgrade is worthless. You set the time and the app don’t start. Sometimes starts and stops in the middle. Fortunately it is just a timer, it does not turn off the circulator. Needs a lots of improvement in the app.

Bluetooth only?!?
This version is bad. No longer support the old WiFi only sous vide cooker and I paid more for it then. Seriously, they need “connect” more. There should be an option to chose method of connection. If it was there, its not apparent.

Timer function is not reliable
WiFi version. Once the app lost connection with the device, the countdown timer will lose track of elapsed time. “Now cooking” will just show 0:00! No precision at all!!!

Phone alert on app shows food ready after 15 mins when the total cooking time is 60 mins. Phone Alert is not reliable at all.

It works for the first time I got it. 2 hours later it lost connection. Tried to reconnect and it failed every.single.time.

Clumsy control of the cooker
The app is good at showing recipe and basic guidelines on cooking standard ingredients (eggs, chicken, etc).
However the link with the cooker is really not working well.
The app has always one or two minute delay with the screen of the cooker: the temperatures do not match when preheating for example (the app is late).
The timer doesn’t always starts automatically when the water is at temperature. Even after clicking on the “start timer” button, most often nothing happens. U have to stop and restart the cooker with the app once or twice before it actually starts counting down.
Much to improve!!

Amazing app and appliance
The recipes are all there and have a comprehensive supply of interesting reads and directions. You can use the app to control timing esp if u are defrosting. No way to control temp on the cooker. But still a gem. I enjoyed using it. @scottzlip

Start page went missing the second time app ran
The start page with temperature guide by Kenji from the Food Lab and list of recipes when missing the second time I ran the app. Found no way to get that back.
It seems tHe precision cooker be set up to run at 0.1 degree Celsius precision, but app only allows manual temp setting in 0.5 degree Celsius step increments. Need an app update on this soonest, please.
