Description

PingID® is a cloud-based strong authentication solution that enables users to authenticate to applications via their phone. PingID delivers a solution that is easy to use for end users with the security that administrators need. End users are presented with a notification on their device when strong authentication is needed and offers offline support when the device does not have a signal. This application is designed for use with for PingOne® and PingFederate®. Before installing this application, please verify your company or organization has licensed the use of PingID. For more information about this, please contact your administrator or Ping Identity support.

What's New in Version 1.31.0

- PingID mobile app now supports the use of a PIN code. If your organization requires you to use a PIN code when using PingID mobile app, you'll be asked to create one, and will need to enter it each time you need to authenticate. If you already use a passcode or biometrics to lock your device, you might be exempt from needing a PIN on PingID mobile app too (depending on your organization's configuration).
- Your organization can now notify you that an update to PingID mobile app is available. The notification includes a link to download the update. Depending on your organization's configuration, updates might be optional or mandatory. If mandatory, you won't be able to skip the notification or use PingID mobile app to authenticate until you update to the latest version.
- We've made further improvements to performance, security, and reliability.

I cannot understand why a company would use this on its employees

There must be faster, more robust solutions out there.
This requires me to physically access my phone at least 5 times a day, and the application is needlessly laggy. I waste at least 30 seconds each time on average. That’s half a day of my life every year.
I would choose a physical token without a second thought.
