A fresh perspective of a dissidia game
I have played the previous dissidia games since the playstation portable version and I would say this gives a fresh mode where the killing the boss is the prinary objective. The previous games focuses on either only boss kills or pvp but this one balances both. Although its very gacha heavy it still brings freshness and balance to the dissidia series.

Fan service for dissidia fans
Gets a little awkward at the start but its not bad after you get used to it. A few pointers
- its very pvp oriented which just happen to be ok for me
- story is readable but could be more invested
- contradict to what reviewers say, you really dont need to spend to win unless you wanna climb to the top fast. The game is also generous in banners (such as the class specific banner) which got me to level up my kain”s UR skills quite abit.
There”s potential here but we just gotta see eventually, hopefully before square decided to shut the servers down 🤗

PvP only begets violence and hatred!
Final fantasy series has always been PvE, solo plays, that’s why FFXIV has so few players as compared to other FF titles. Good luck getting more players if the game can still survive after 2026.

Is a gatcha game basically with competitive element. Similar to pokemon unite. If you are playing the game casually the game is fun

Removal or auto battle in ranked matches would be nice, once players see that it’s a gold crystal, all goes into auto and throws the match.. not a good experience/feeling to have

It’s very bad it just ride on nostalgia but not the real Dissidia we waited for this for a long time to be given a trash money grabber game

Too grindy and too little rewards
For a free-to-play player, currency to do draws is extremely limited. The PvP is heavily reliant on your draws, and if you don’t draw the copies of abilities you want, be prepared to be stuck in a lower tier in PvP. The amount of times I have met either underlevelled players or overlevelled players is insane. You either are a whale who pulls for all 100+ copies of an ability to max limit break it or you get stuck with low levelled abilities. And not to mention your stats are tied to your ability levels, so your power level will also suffer as a result. Be prepared to just play one game a week or whenever you feel like experiencing some form of PvP with ridiculous matchmaking.

Wasted Potential - Not the Final Fantasy Experience Fan Like Me Were Waiting For
This game isn’t necessarily bad... but it’s just not my kind of game. As a long time fan of the Final Fantasy series, I was honestly hoping for something much closer to what made the franchise special in the first place.
What I don’t understand is, why make it a PvP focused game? A lot of us have been waiting for a solid new entry that captures the essence of classic Final Fantasy storytelling and gameplay. Instead, we got something that feels pretty mid and disconnected from what fans truly love.
Why not go back to what works? A proper turn based system, or even something along the lines of Final Fantasy XV or Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis but expanded. Imagine a full crossover experience where we don’t just stick to one storyline, but bring together iconic characters like Lightning, Noctis, and others from across the franchise into one cohesive game.
That kind of concept would’ve been way more exciting and meaningful for fans who’ve stuck with the series for years. Instead of experimenting with PvP, why not build something that celebrates everything Final Fantasy is known for... its characters, its stories, and its legacy?
