Knowing God – A Journey of Faith with the Truth of Scripture
On the journey of knowing God, the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed, the Belgic Confession (1561), the Heidelberg Catechism (1563), and the Canons of Dort (1619) play pivotal roles. This app provides the complete texts of these creeds and confessions, all derived from and subject to the authority of the Bible.
These creeds and confessions serve essential purposes:
They help answer the question, “What do the Reformed churches believe and teach?” They establish a common standard that unites the members of the church in a shared confession. They also provide a doctrinal guideline for church office-bearers and help the church guard against false teaching and uphold the purity of biblical truth (2 Timothy 1:13–14).
