Dumb content management and poor app design
You have dubbed versions of a movie but not the original!! How dumb is that?!! Also, maybe work on a user friendly app design.. and your download speed is SOOOO bad!! I set a download in your app and a well known competitor app (same duration and set to the lowest video quality download) - I was able to download FOUR videos on that app while yours still shows 25% done.. Hilarious!!

Loading Issue
I’ve been using Amazon Prime Video for several months, and overall I’m satisfied with the content selection and features. There are many great movies and series, and the platform itself has a lot of potential.
However, the loading issue after pressing “play” is extremely frustrating. The app often takes far too long to load, and I usually have to exit and reopen it two or three times before the video actually starts. This happens frequently and disrupts the viewing experience.
While I genuinely enjoy the content, this ongoing performance issue outweighs the positives of the app. I really hope this problem is addressed in a future update, as it significantly affects usability.

Hidden fees and long adverts
If you think paying your prime membership fee is enough to view the “prime” content you are mistaken. Only a proportion of the media available on prime video is free for prime members and even the free stuff had hidden fees. For example, the first few seasons of a series will be free but they charge you to watch the end of the series.
There are adverts. Not only at the beginning of the media but in the middle. And not just a few seconds or skippable like YouTube, but long; 1-3 minute long garbage ads you hate forced to watch to ruin your viewing experience. It’s actually despicable and it’s chronically annoying.

Data hog and lack of HDR support

Just last week, prime video used 8-9GB of data while streaming one episode of young Sheldon, even though I set it to use the lowest quality stream when on mobile data.

How is it in 2024 that something as BASIC as using the spacebar and arrow keys don’t work in the Amazon Prime app ? Again demonstration of Amazon’s incompetence. Their recommendation ? Password Requirements for Mature Content
1. Having to enter a password on every episode with mature content is ridiculous. It spoils the enjoyment of lazing around on the couch with snacks, just to get up and grab the remote to enter the password on every trailer and episode. Amazon needs to rethink this overly intrusive parental control process.
2. Unable to Remove From Watch History
Not being able to remove any boring episodes from my watch history is frustrating. Having to constantly see titles I've already viewed diminishes the browsing experience. Amazon should add a "Remove from Watch History" option.
3. Video Quality Issues
It's weird that the first few minutes of video playback are low quality, despite having an internet connection over 400 Mbps. Amazon's video streaming quality should be consistently high from start to finish, not have these strange dips at the beginning.
While Amazon Prime has a great content library, these user experience issues with parental controls, watch history management, and video quality are annoyances that need to be addressed. Amazon should listen to customer feedback to improve the overall streaming experience for users.

Privacy issue
One thing i really disliked about prime is there is no privacy at all in the profiles. Anyone with the account access can view the watch history of others profiles. This is really an invasion of privacy. Developers should really work on the profile lock system.

Great catalogue but…
Personally, I feel like you’re catching up to Nextflix and doing better than Disney. The two things I really hope you emulate a Netflix are -
1) add in “remove continue watching” feature for unfinished shows that we will like to stop watching.
2) Categories at the home menu instead of having us to scroll down. And a Back button will be nice too while you’re at that.

It’s cheap but…needs improvement

Been trying to get away from Netflix for a while, but using Prime just makes me like Netflix more. The Prime UI is not the best to begin with, it’s very slow to even rewind a few seconds if you missed something. To turn subtitles on is very clunky and when you do use them, they’re horrible! The subtitles have grammatical errors and sometimes they’re out of synch with the show/movie. Another problem with series, I’ve seen episodes missing from some seasons, which is very annoying. Anyway, it’s cheap, can save you on a rainy day, but defo needs improvement.

Not a lot of good movies and shows. The search algorithm is terrible, you can’t even search or filter 4k hdr movies. The authentication when logging into another device too is not working. I only subscribe to Prime because of The Office and Parks n Rec and the delivery service. Stop hiring cheap devs and fix your app.

I would’ve given a 5 rating but:
1. Because I live in Singapore many titles cannot be watched because I’m not in the US.
2. Why should we have to pay additional for each title (other than the free ones which off course are never the best ones); when we are already charged a subscription fee - we don’t have to do that for Netflix!
3. Please find a way of labelling titles that are in a different language - it’s frustrating to find out after deciding it might be with watching . . . Only to find that you can’t.

I just ended it after 2 months subscriptions
It isn’t worth it. Mostly Indian movies and So many of them. Very little new Hollywood movies, main bulks of them are below 2010. UI isn’t that smooth to navigate either. Choosing “not interested” also they keep reappearing sometimes later in suggestions. 👎🏻

Decided to give it another go but..
Was sorely disappointed. Again the content has not been updated and though I’m not against having non-English content, the copious amount of Tamil/Telugu vs English shows is astounding to the point that it piqued my curiosity to Google why Prime Video has tons of the former content. And I found out why. I understand the need for Amazon’s Head of Content to promote your own cultural agenda but not at the expense of an international audience. It has to have a certain degree of balance that caters to a wider audience. For now, I’m sticking to the Netflix and Apple TV.

I have Netflix, Apple TV+ subscriptions and Prime Video for Singapore is pathetic. The only saving grace is 1 or 2 of the original dramas and Good Omens. I’m cancelling my subscription after finishing Good Omens.
The amount of push for Tamil and Hindi movies is beyond me. We are in south east Asia. Shouldn’t there be more selections of other ethnic shows/movies other than Tamil and Hindi movies? Like Taiwan or Korean dramas for example or even Thai movies. At least give us the latest or older Hollywood movies? There’s also no way to filter which ones are newly updated / added. Then again, I doubt any of the Prime Video US series or movies are coming to Prime Video Singapore.
Either fix your streaming service or don’t even bother offering it in this region if you can’t keep up with the competition.

Good movie collection but bad app experience
The content has been improving but most of them are not available for people moving to overseas. It’s obviously content rights but what I am disappointed is with the app experience. Double tap on all video apps forwards except for prime video. It zooms in instead. Forwarding content is difficult. Please look into fixing it.

Astonishingly bad!
It’s a terrible, terrible app - as is the prime video service. My 4-year old can write better algorithms. Not sure what they use to recommend movies to you. Despite two calls to their customer service, they keep pushing out Tamil and Hindi movies to me on the app - taking up prime real estate on the homepage. Let me not even talk about their meagre movie offerings. How they’ll ever catch up with Netflix is beyond me.

There isn’t 1080p quality option on iPad mini
Will u make an improvement about this? The highest quality of the video in Google movie and Netflix is better than yours on iPad because they support 1080p.

Video quality after downloading
Everything’s fine except, all the shows has been the same for months. Except for some movies that has been added recently. And for my download quality I’ve put it at “Best” but however no matter what good wifi connection I use the quality appears to be “Good” or average & not “Best”. It would be good if you guys fix it. And just like I’ve commented for Netflix. Start adding more shows and movies.

Non availability of episodes and advertised program
I find episode 4 of Marvellous Mrs Maisel missing for weeks. Sent emails no response. Called customer care and it was of no help. Some programmes advertised are not available. Sent mail as well but no response. Netflix does not have such issues.

Very poor programming
1. Series are advertised but when you click on it, the series is not available or certain episodes are not available. You don’t see such glaring problems with Netflix for example.
2. Subtitling is very hit and miss. For example the film, The Revenant, certain parts of the dialogue is in French, and all he subtitles sometimes don’t appear.
3. Hardly any new programming. And when you think there are new programs, as mentioned in Point 1 above, the series is not available.

No continue watching
No place to find what you watched last time. You have to remember it yourself, and find it next time if you want to continue watching.
Stupid APP. But it is cheaper than Netflix.

Easy to use app
But definitely needs sorting out the volume adjuster while watching on iPhone. Volume adjuster appears right in the middle of the screen. Should do something like YouTubes where volume adjuster is a thin line on top of screen.

Chrome cast, please
Great app but a bit of a challenge to have to watch on mobile devices. Why can’t you allow chrome cast?
