The primary reason why anyone uses this app at all is for steam guard. And if confirming trades keeps producing errors, then it renders this app worthless regardless of the UI and other functionality

Turning into a useless portrait platform
I thought they had made a change to allow landscape display, now it just got reverted to portrait only! Forget it! I had remove the app enough with this hogwash. If I need a portrait lock trash I would had use my phone instead of an iPad!

Not user friendly
Bought program to install Freddi the Fish program to educate children. Program was so difficult to install and impossible to download. So disappointing as had heard good things about the educational software. Glad that I did not buy the full package but bought only 2 games to try and didn’t work.
Do not recommend to anyone else. Software definitely not user friendly. Really disappointing.

Mixed feeling
I have a mixed feeling about this app, it is pretty decent despite buying games on it but the problem is where you cannot change your profile which pretty “lame” despite using the app instead of a desktop but overall, it is okay withe some buggy applications.

It works fine but if you don’t have a steam account on your pc or laptop you can’t log in. Maybe VALVe could make it look like a mobile device and not a computer.

Poorly made app
I have been using steam on desktop for around 5 years. I decided to try out the app and I was taken aback by the poorly developed UI. Navigating through the app was slightly tough but not too bad. however, I noticed that Valve tried making the mobile app UI similar to desktop UI which is the prime issue. The two never work interchangeably. Developers, if you can please try adopting a more "mobile device" UI. The app certainly has bugs and some options don't work upon me clicking them.
Instead of making the mobile app into a store, you could try making the mobile app more focused on the community market and chatting since the store lacks significance on a mobile device when games are PC. My primary focus for the mobile app was to track my items on the steam market and you could try working on that

I cannot even start
Once I started to download and entered the app, I am suppose to make an account right? But I’m stuck in a sign in page, I’m not sure whether you are suppose to be in that page when you start because I can’t even start....
So, I’m stuck in the sign in page and it didn’t even ask for my email. It just assume that I had an account so when I went to try to make an account for myself, it thought I had one already.
Everywhere I tap on the screen won’t work I can never make an account. :c

Why 7 day trade hold? Why do I have a 7 day trade ban for cancelling trade from a scammer I identified? Why have a steam level system not based on playtime but rather money spent collecting cards? Why the pushing of gambling to children? Why do I have to wait 15 days to sell my 10 cent card?

Glitches and Long Trade holds
A ton of glitches. They have a lot of “security” but the amount of people that are still getting scammed is still the same. I once got my account stolen. Steam support helped me get it back in around 48 hours (at least their support team is nice). They acknowledged that I was indeed scammed and my account was indeed compromised. However they didn’t reverse the trade where I was scammed and slapped me with a 15 day trade block. Like WHAT!? You acknowledged that my account got stolen and stuff and you still slap me with a trade ban? What for? Security? They reset my password and gave me a new one via email and unless it’s also hacked, it’s safe . That’s like saying “ok it seems that your account is indeed compromised here’s your account back. But you still may be a scammer/account stealer so here’s a 15 day trade and market ban”
If my account was indeed still compromised even after I got it back the trade and market ban would be useless as the scammer/hijacker would just change the password and lock me out all over again before waiting for the ban to end. If it isn’t compromised (like now) your forcing someone who already lost nearly everything he had (90% of my items) to wait as if it’ll do any good

Useful but why no stream?
The app is useful for alerting me to sales for
games on my Wishlist because I don’t always have access to my computer. One gripe I have is why can’t I watch streams of my friends’ play. If it can be done on a desktop, surely it can be done on mobile?

Frustrating
Keeps logging me out every time i lock my phone. Seriously annoying to need to log in everytime i have something to authenticate and there is no option to “remember me” or “keep me logged in” . No new updates to fix the existing bugs or improve the app performance. Its just broken but necessary to keep accounts secured. Extremely frustrating to work with.

The application technically works as it should, however at times such as submitting market confirmations, it just stops working. I really urge Steam to give this powerful yet underrated application a refurnish, a new look, a better user experience.

Clunky and poor quality
I’m on iPhone XM Max and this app is terribly unoptimized and clunky and crashes as well. It reminds me so much of the PlayStation app, equally inferior. You can tell straight away that this app was born dysfunctional and Steam dev team (guarantee you it’s outsourced somewhere really cheap) keeps patching instead of going back to the drawing board and fix the root cause.

Convenient
I like the steam app. It gives me access to my steam account whenever I am away from home and without access to the computer. This makes it very convenient to check for pending trades and such. I also love how I can browse the steam store. However, the ‘popular tags’ pages when exploring the store is faulty. Please fix it. Although it already is convenient, it would be better if there is a greater user interface experience and navigation built even better for mobile users. Right now, it just seems like the buttons are subpar , which contributes to a less than stellar experience navigating through the pages.

Steam Community Market
The current version to date does allow us to communicate, browsing inventory and viewing of friend status. The only area for improvement is to introduce the market into this app too, so that we get to do our trading and stuffs when we are out there.

I think this app will be more useful if you allow trades and market transactions (or trade offers at least), as well as allowing the crafting of badges.
These are the things that most people do on Steam other than gaming so I don't see why you shouldn't have such features in this app.

dota2 inventory
i'm suggesting that the dota2 inventory gets implemented into the app so that we can trade/view/buy/sell via the app as well. it'd facilitate our transactions so that we can do it while on the go outside. it'd also help us to view what items are up for sale in the market so that we can purchase it as and when we see a desired item. the dota2 market has more then 1000 pages of items that are for sale at the moment, & while on the go, traders will be able to view them as they might be bored while on a transport or during the lunch hour in the office. i hope that my suggestion is feasible. thank you.

Good app but need updating
There is a bug for steam mobile app. When you go to someone or your own profile, the playing time is 0! I played 40 hrs for last 2 weeks and it says 0! Please fix this in the next update but make it as soon as possible. Thanks!

Needs some improvements
I love how you can shop on mobile. I think the store here is great, and the news and updates page as well.

What I think should improve is the chat function, since most of us use the mobile app to chat with our friends. Some how if I close the app, and get notified that I've got a message, it doesn't show on my messages list. I DO get notified but I don't see the message. So I have to keep telling my friends to repeat what they said.
Another thing is the ability to go offline would be helpful, I don't want to keep getting invites or messages from my friends during my lectures in school. I think the offline button would help.
Overall the app is pretty useful, but could use some improvements :)
I'd appreciate if Valve were to read this review.

Great app! The chat notification is glitchy at times. I understand that it is to prevent duplicate notifications on more than one device. Sometimes I'm unable to view my messages on the app too. And one more thing... About the app icon... Please remove the yellow tinge... It's disturbing.

Great app for Steam users.
Very good and polished app even though it's still in closed beta. Improvements could be made though. Such as timestamps for chats and push notification. However. This app is already better than most similar apps. For those wondering, signing in with your steam account signs you up for the mobile beta; all you have to do then is to wait to be invited. All the low reviews are just unfair and unjustified.
