Always error in displaying content
Somehow it displays this quite often. But there’s no pattern and it’s so random. I see the articles displayed properly. Yet when it’s bad five out of ten articles I click on will tell me “error in displaying content”. No back button either I have to swipe lifer to go to a neighbouring article or just restart the whole app.

Pages expire fast
If you open any news article and switch to any other app, when you come back it unloads it and forces you back to home screen. Doesn't even have a back or undo button to go back to what you were reading. Very frustrating.

Flooded by news that I indicated I am not interested.
The more I select “display less of this topic” the more that topic appears. If I am to stop a soccer news site or Bollywood site appearing, it pick from many other soccer sites and Bollywood related news sites. Flooded with news that is of no interest to me. And the “latest” news is no longer displaying latest news...it keep showing news of the last 24-48 hours without updating.
Deleted google news for good unless they bring back the old version.

Product Manager should be fired
The new version doesn't show stories by topics like it used to do. The technology section is full with gaming news, which I have zero interest in. Despite indicating to show fewer stories like those, it keeps shoving them in.
Another example - I have Macbook as a favorite topic and now it no longer shows me news on that topic like it used to do with the older version. If I search for Macbook news, it shows me stale news from 2016 and 2017. Really?
The UI may be nice but that doesn't count if the content is irrelevant to the user.
This is a horrible update and the product manager should be fired! You have completely screwed up a very functional and useful app. It has gone from rating 5 to 1. Very disappointed.

Rotation bug
On my iPhone 6plus, the right half the app blacked out when phone is rotated to landscape. Rotate it back to portrait and top half of the app is blacked out. Need to restart app and stick to portrait mode all the way in order to use the app.

Perfect.
The imperfect score is attributed to the bad app coding a before the update. Now though, this app is more than workable. It features Google iconic simplified design that any iPhone users will understand immediately.
Thirst is complicated and FlipBoard is convoluted with bad contents. This app, presents contents directly from the sources.

Cannot get pass article's cover picture
Sometimes you aren't able to read the article at all, you're stuck with the front picture and there's no way to swipe to read the next page. And swiping is the only way to get to the next part of the article. You can however navigate to the next article which might be struck by the same bug!

Crashing
In my iPad1, that is iOS 5.1 (maximum that iPad generation 1 can go for), it is not possible to use Currents properly. It is a great application and although I keep sending crash reports to Google nearly everyday, no action is taken to solve any problems. I guess I am interestingly being expected by Google to switch to other program alternatives or upgrade my iPad.

I'm so glad to finally have Google Currents in this part of the world. Absolutely beautiful experience but it doesn't look like it's updated for the new iPad screen yet. Please fix!
