Poorly designed app whose ads cannot be turned off

The X to turn off the adverts is right at the corner of the screen which iPhone users cannot turn off. Perhaps this is to get more screen time for their ads to play out. Better to access the main stream news apps instead.

Stupid app

Was a long time user of this app but now deleted this app.
When you launch this app, an advert appear where you have no way of exiting the stupid advert to read the news.
What good is an news app that don’t let you get pass the advert no matter what you do?

Worst App Ever

This is the worst news apps ever for Singapore published articles !
Updates comes common with Apple upgrade but not this apps. It crashes every time t
Apple has an updated OS.
Very slow in response and updates.
Get yr news somewhere else. Unless you have the patience to let yr phone hang by this apps again and again.

Poor Performance

Even after deleting old version and updating to latest AsiaOne version and having latest iOS and clearing the cache, this Apps still crash on opening after showing advertising and within one second Crash. Can anything be done on this?

Excellent App Developer

I have always found Asiaone articles interesting and sometimes funny. You can’t find such articles in Channelnewsasia. Recently there was a technical issue, I emailed them and the developer was swift to produce a new version which resolves the issue. Excellent and swift troubleshooting from the app developer.

Truly disappointed that the app doesn’t even pass QA test before being released, it’s not the first time!
Sloppy remarks on version control as well, how come there’s so many optimisation versions.

updates mostly focus on new ads..

while the content on asia one is pretty good but app upgrades mostly focus on adding in new adverts or making them harder to close.. would recommend not upgrading and just use old version. give consumers a cheap way to pay and remove the ads please !!

Must do something

AsiaOne is really a good read. Been reading since it was born. The journalists, writers, researchers, photographers are all good. Interesting articles BUT .....
1) The internet link is horrible. It’s too slow loading, and loading and loading. 2) then while wanting to read in the dead of night, suddenly some adverts with loud music or narration come on. Wake everyone up and get scolded. If these two can be improved.. would be 5 stars from me.

Super Slow App

Not sure why this app is still in existence. Articles takes forever to load. Even after the reading the first section that is visible, it still takes forever for the rest of the article to load. How can such a poor product be even allowed to be launched. The people at the top must be sleeping! Zzzzzzz

Click bait be careful

The app loads an ad when it first starts up. The x button to close will appear in the top left, sometimes it’ll switch over to the top right after a few seconds so you’ll click on the ad unintentionally instead of the closing the ad.
Need to use such means to earn revenue?

Dark background

Bad to worse

What is going on with this app. Started off good and fresh a few years back. Then the font was changed to basically unreadable and articles redirected to other news portals. Now it’s not even possible to zoom into the tiny text and with no settings option.
