Blind Box Bike

Sometimes a bike is like getting a blind box, you won’t know if the break is faulty or the lock doesn’t lock properly until you book it. I’m not talking about the missing handles or seats, but there isn’t a way to test the brakes as if you try to move it while it’s lock, the alarm will ring off. But most of the time is still usable as a casual bike.

Very user friendly app

Bike sharing is convenient and easy with this app. It shows the bicycle availabilities at different parking spots, making finding the bicycle easy. The Anywheel Pass also allows you to travel further with only 50 cents under an hour, compared to the $2 for no pass!

Reading through the reviews especially the one complaining about advertisement in a fully-paid service, I couldn't agree more with the reviewer. That review was 8 months ago and there were NUMEROUS updates since then and even today there is no setting to disable all promotion notifications? The company should focus on gaining their income more from the user rentals than additional BS promotion.

New improved bike is amazing !

Have to take time to write this review to give kudos to the team behind Anywheel for making improvements on the new bike. I was really amazed by the quality of the new bike which comes with the phone holder and automated greeting when I unlocked the bike. Seat and grip of the bike is very very comfortable too. As a seasoned cyclist I have to say this is really amazing and I really hope to see more of these nicely maintained new bikes on the lot! Until the next ride Anywheel!

Most of the bicycles are broken.

Just collect money without maintenance

I started using it twice in June. Not only was it difficult to find an undamaged bike, but it was also difficult to find a replacement immediately after unlocking and riding and discovering a fault. I wasted $1/30 of a minute, and I couldn't get a refund. They also required me to put down a minimum of $10 in credit. The streets are full of faulty bikes, making users think they can borrow them anywhere, but in fact they are all broken. I believe you can also see broken bikes that have been idle for a long time on the streets.

Super slow bikes and illogical location of terminals

1. These bikes are so bad when it comes to speed. It’s like a gym bike, designed not to move. Faster cheaper better bikes already exist so not sure why they picked this high torque low speed set.

2. The bikes are for helping with last mile of trip but the terminals are primarily at bus stops. I get off the bus and use this bike to reach my workplace so it would make sense to have terminals at bus stops and as many buildings as possible across Singapore

Many poor quality and poorly maintained bikes throughout Singapore

I've been trying to use Anywheel to get around Singapore, but the quality of the bikes has been consistently poor. Many of the bikes I've encountered are in disrepair, with flat tires, broken seats, and other issues.

It's frustrating to have to spend time reporting these issues and waiting for them to be fixed. The lack of maintenance is not only inconvenient but also raises safety concerns.

I hope Anywheel will prioritize bike maintenance and quality control to improve the user experience.

SCAM FOR FREQUENT USER

After using this app for almost two years, I initially loved it as a convenient alternative to taking the bus from the MRT to my home. Unfortunately, the experience has gone downhill, and it now feels like the company is exploiting its users. Essential QR codes needed for parking aren’t maintained, making it impossible to end rides properly and leading to unfair penalties. The app also forces a cumbersome verification process that often glitches out, resulting in unjust fees. It’s really disappointing to see a once-great service become so problematic.

The fleet seems to be improving!

I generally prefer Anywheel’s blue-bicycle competitor for the quality of the bicycles, but at peak hours, beggars can’t be choosers! Today not a blue bicycle was in sight; in their place, three Anywheel bicycles, each unrideable in its own way -- one missing a saddle, the others mysteriously “under maintenance”. Suddenly a knight on a shiny new green steed rolled into to the bike-parking area, ending his journey so I could hijack his ride. “I think this one is new!” he beamed. And indeed it was: the seat, plump, unsullied by people’s butts; a holster for your phone so you can navigate and FaceTime while you ride; the delightful crisp ding of an unrusted bell. A lovely contrast to the Anywheel bicycles I’ve had the displeasure of riding in the past, with their failing brakes, fake leather peeling off to reveal gross yellow seat-sponge underneath, and weird uneven steering (no, I don’t want to keep going left). Keep adding to your fleet and I’ll switch from the blue competitor to Anywheel - permanently!

I’ve been using Anywheel for a few months, mainly to get to and from the gym - it’s become part of my warm-up and cool-down routine, and overall it’s been a great experience. The bikes are generally well-maintained, easy to unlock, and it’s a nice way to sneak in a bit of extra movement without the hassle of waiting for a bus or train. Love it :)

Terrible Experience – A Complete Scam!

I had the worst experience with Anywheel’s family bike. After riding for 20 minutes with my baby to get home, I found out that I couldn’t park at the nearest bike parking spot. The app didn’t provide clear information about where family bikes could be parked, so I kept searching for over an hour, only to realize that every parking spot I found only allowed regular bikes, not family bikes.

In the end, I had to give up, take a taxi home with my baby, and still got charged a total of $32 —$12 for 1.5 hours of riding and an extra $20 penalty for “improper parking.” What should have cost just $4 turned into a complete nightmare.

Later, I checked the app’s map and found that it didn’t even indicate where family bikes could be parked. I suspect there are barely any designated parking spots in the entire city. Worse still, when I first rented the bike, the app already warned me that my starting location was not a designated parking area for family bikes, meaning the previous user was also forced to pay the $20 penalty. This feels like an intentional scam to trick users into paying extra fees.

Unlike Helloride, which allows family bikes to be parked in any designated parking zone, Anywheel’s system is misleading and unfair. I strongly advise against using Anywheel’s family bikes—it’s simply not worth the hassle!

Beautiful and impeccable app … works very well. however if you could fix this persistent bug I’ve been having : after a period of time using this app, the app will suddenly freeze on launch, and it’s either have to wait for a long time or I had to delete and reinstall the app. Could you help look into it?

what a scam

Used it 3 times, out of 3, 2 of the times were constantly finding a working, functional bike. The first time when we saw a working bike, both of them were under maintenance. After walking to the next parking spot and scanning, it was to our disappointment that the pedal was loose. It was only at the THIRD parking spot that we could find a working bike.

The second time upon scanning the bike and riding it for 10mins, the chain became loose. After putting the chain back for 3 times, it was to our discovery that it was in fact broken. And even so we had to walk 10mins under the rain to find another parking spot which 3/5 of the bikes were spoilt. This was really a disappointment.

Good Initiative but MANY missing bikes

It’s my third time encountering missing bikes.

There was this once I really wanted to cycle home as the weather was great but I walked to 3 different locations to all missing bikes. It was really frustrating and this happened 3 times. Hope the developers can develop a report button for missing bikes.

Secondly, once the bike is labeled as under maintenance, it doesn’t seem to be fixed. I’ve seen the same bike under maintanence for a few days.

Lastly, the app developer should allow people to withdraw their money back to their account.

Convenient App, but Bike Quality Needs Improvement

Anywheel app is user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to rent bikes quickly. However, the quality of the bicycles needs improvement. The seats are stiff and uncomfortable, and the seat height adjustment often fails to clamp securely. Despite these issues, the overall convenience of the app is commendable. Fixing the bike quality would make this service even better.

Poor condition of the bicycles

Do you people do bicycle maintenance? The condition of the bicycles is far from satisfactory. I had difficulty locking the bicycle upon reaching my location and as a result another $ was deducted. Brake cable are sometimes rusty, bicycle without a seat, bicycle with “maintenance “ tag but sitting there for months, bicycle with personal lock but yet to be released for months. I mean really do you people go around to check even after I have made a report?

I hope to see better management of the bicycles not withstanding all these hardware problems, the app is quite user friendly and straightforward to use.

Money first then service

When you want to start a ride, but have to go through annoying advertisements, and then top up money because you have insufficient funds, then you realized paynow service is overused and unavailable.

Why is it that an overseas company like HelloRide has a more seamless experience in renting bikes than a local company? HelloRide allows you to ride first in their comfy bikes then you pay after you are done.

Why do Anywheel allow advertisements to hinder the experience of their users? That is pure putting earning income over providing service business model. And worst of all, users are already paying for their service. It’s not like we are using their service for free.

Decent experience!

Recently decided to try Anywheel when I just wanted to cycle. It’s quite a decent ride actually 😊 it would be better if the basket is more stable and doesn’t swing. Currently I am 152cm tall and finds it a little of a challenge even though it is at the lowest seat height. It would also be better if there can be more accommodating bikes for people around ~148cm or so. Apart from that, I would love to see how the carbon emissions are calculated too.

A fun suggestion is to include race challenges where one can get a virtual/ physical customisable medal with Anywheel for completing x km during a challenge period. That will encourage more usage and ridership, and making it more fun for existing riders to share and refer new friends to participate in it together.

Wrong billing

Without any permission to deduct 9.90 from me, i have no longer using this app for a year, this morning i find out there is a deducted payment from anywheel company. I email to anywheel company and told them that i had this issue. Afterthat i terminated my account cos i dont want have a 2nd time that happen. The customer service reply that i have terminated my account and they cannot recover on their side. Quite disappointed on this app, deducted money from ppl that didnt using your service is like hacker. If i didnt check my bank account , no one will know this happen and pay without permission. You can have worse service but dont touch ppl money. Poor anywheel.

Suggestions!

I love the app and service and your availability (plus the pass seems pretty reasonable, and liking the credit system)

just suggesting a couple things! Having more focus on the carbon emissions that we have managed to save? And showing examples? Like riding xxxkm is the equivalent saving xxxx and focusing on my fitness as well! The more i do, i attain badges for personal milestones. Somewhat more fitness and sustainability focused, cause i tapped on ‘carbon’ and ‘calories’ under my profile and was sort of expecting more information.

monetary & time loss to commute

Honestly only good if you have a dedicated park connector road near your commute.

Otherwise, It cost more on both your monetary expenses & personal time to commute with rental bicycles available right now than to take a public transport in Singapore.

Sure it is a last-mile option, though you'd have to pay attention to the new updated pricing

Every 30 minutes == $1.00 SGD fees

You'd think 30 minutes is plentiful. Realistically, you would find yourself "idling" on pedestrian traffic light crossings.

Additional fact, the single gear ratio on the bicycles don't really get to reasonable speeds, probably to reduce muscle fatigue when starting to pedal from a stationary position, besides the heavy overall bicycle weight doesn't help.

Perhaps the mechanical lock is responsible for quarter of the overall bicycle weight?

Good bikes but wonky GPS means they’re hard to find

Been using this bike share service for about 2 weeks now, and I love it! However the bikes can be hard to find. Once, I spent 20 mins walking to 3 different parking spots where the map indicated a few available bikes were parked at and found nothing. The worst was the app showing 4 available bikes and finding 0 after walking the whole way through???? Ended up giving in and walking all the way back to the mrt where I started out at and took public transport instead….

charging extra money

Half the bicycles i have tried have had some kind of fault (eg faulty seat, faulty brakes). I bought a pass, which is SUPPOSED to give you free 30-min rides for a certain period of time.

After finishing using the bike, i parked it at the Anywheel parking lot and tried to end my trip. However the bike was not able to lock and my trip was not able to end it not the app. I was therefore charge extra $$. I reported it and took photo to the customer service on the app. However, they deny my request and continue to charge me.

What a scam app and company. Now I decideded to cancel my account with $7 left in the wallet. They said money inside the wallet cannot be withdrawal. Wow I miss old ofo bike. Their customer support is so much better than this.

Don’t use Anywheel

Lack of bikes everywhere near my area and bikes I found were most damaged, made my trip ruined as bike was difficult to function.

I came across an incident where my credit was deducted unreasonably. The bike I unlocked look perfectly fine but after unlocking it, I realised it was damaged and I was unable to push it to a parking area as one is pretty distant away and I unlocked it from just a random bicycle parking bay under a HDB block. Since that’s the case, I went to scan a QR at another parking area and I got charged for parking the bike outside of the parking area and thus got charged $5 credit for it. The bike literally won’t move. Do they expect me to carry the bike to the parking area?! Thought Anywheel was good as I have used a few times but this just ruined my whole experience of it. Thanks Anywheel 🙂

I love how easy it is to use the app. Even when my child has no cc I can gift him an amount to u unlock the bicycle from his phone! I love how it ensures the bicycles are not parked at random places but at designated locations to avoid unsightly parking of bicycles. Will use again

Smooth ride, and I can actually know how many calories i burnt 🔥🔥🔥

The bikes were like... everywhere and it was easy to find one and it actually saved me a whole lot of time. Also, since I am taking up 10km daily cycling as a calorie-burner it was convenient cuz I was able to find out how many calories I burnt. One thing you can improve on is the bike baskets. My bottle and phone kept falling off, and I think it is best if they can increase the height of the basket barriers so they don't fall so much. Overall, nice job!

Bicycle comes with a basket and was lighter than I thought, easy to ride. The one I took was very new and clean. Love the idea that the bicycle basket was not attached to the handle part.

Not able to change gear or speed but it’s good enough for a ride around the neighbourhood.

First time trying the app, easy to use and plenty of bikes and parking slots available. I had an issue to end the ride due to my phone battery going flat and they had helped me to resolve the issue so efficiently and quickly. Great customer service! Their bikes were awesome for casual cycling and the app was easy to use. I hope everyone can be considerate in using their bikes as well! 10/10 will ride again.

Worst Bike App Ever

I paid for monthly subscription. However, every Monday morning I will never be allowed to scan their QR because it will say failure. Today, on Wednesday same thing. I cannot scan and bike cannot unlock. Next thing I knew I am charged $9 for parking at the wrong place. The app is such a failure it causes so much trouble for user. I have to go through this horror every few days. And Got to appeal for something that I did not do. A complete waste of time. I do not recommend this app. Other bike app is a lot more user friendly.

Good until learning about details

Anywheel used to be my go to to avoid excessive cab charges. Until I learned about “family bike”. Rarely have I felt so let down by a service. Booking a ride with no meaningful difference, I was suddenly not able to park my bicycle until close from where I had left off - regardless of having a parking for “ordinary” Anywheel bikes. In total, I ended up paying more for a ride I could’ve also walked.

As a loyal customer I am extremely angered by being treated like this. I advise against Anywheel for anyone who is not fully aware of pick up and drop off location!!!

NO PARKING QR CODE/NO INDICATION IF BIKE IS UNDER MAINTANENCED

1. There are days where i'm just late for work, saw a bike scan it only to realised bike was "under maintenance" and there is no indication in the app showing if the bike is under maintenance etc. it is a total waste of time. If i they indicate it at least i can avoid taking the bike.

2. Bike that was indicated "under maintenance" are mostly ok and in good condition even new. So its quite frustrating especially during peak hours when you're late for work trying get a bike that looks new but turnouts its "under maintenance". So please don't just put every bike "under maintenance" just because someone send in a review. Try to personally verify it before placing it under maintenance as these bike are in good condition

Really good

Because of Anywheel, i started cycling more during my free time and it became a hobby. The UI was amazing and easy to use, really impressed me when I tried bike sharing for the first time. There are some faulty bicycles so it’s like a miracle if I find a properly functioning bicycle (I always make sure to take care of the bicycle and leave it in the same condition I started using it).

So much better than most bike sharing apps!

UI is incredible, response time is stunning and the system for processing locks, unlocks, top up, etc, is impressively smooth. Keeps the user responsible and handle the environment responsibly as well! This was made by people who genuinely wanted to make a bike sharing program instead of purely for business. It would be very nice if there was a plan or some sort of subscription for both short and long term users. Anyways, I see myself using this a lot in the future, thanks AnyWheel!

Tried em all, this is hands down the best. User experience works perfectly, and hardware is great too. Bikes are light without feeling cheap. What's really impressive is the speed of communication between bike and app - it knows immediately when you've ended. Haven't had a problem so far, which is a refreshing experience. Looking forward to using it more.

Smooth UX, wish for more!!

More bikes and more parking spots! Enjoy the hassel-free process, just difficult to find bikes. App shows me 3 bikes in my area, but when i walk to them they are not there even tho it shows on the app. I have to kinda chance upon a bike to use this service. Bikes are generally well maintained, nothing fancy so its easy to use. I like the parking spots and relocation fee, hopefully that can create more respect for shared bikes!

Always Appeal not approved

I top up $10 and scanned the bicycle however some of the bicycles are faulty and couldn’t lock at all. just took photo and sent to appeal however they said appeal is not approve and charged $1. Everytime you reported faulty bicycle they said Appeal not Approved and will keep charging you $1 and they will suspend you for a month. You won’t be able to use the remaining balance in you account. They Charge my friend with $5 coz they said wrong parking without even sending notifications to atleast give a warning. The money was returned back after the appeal however they still charged $.50 and my friend couldn’t use her 7days as she need to top up for atleat 10 to pay for $.50 before can continue to use your 7days that she registered. - ⭐️

Pros:

What really motivated me to leave a review was the customer service. My boyfriend and I rode along the cycling trail at Tanglin Halt to Tanjong Pagar, but it started pouring and there were no shelter. My boyfriend skidded and scraped his knee and was unable to walk properly. We had no choice but to ditch the bike so we could seek shelter and attend to his wound asap.

The $5 that was deducted yesterday due to misplacement of the bikes has been refunded back to me this morning after submitting an appeal. The customer service was very efficient and understanding and the appeal process and very fast. Sorry for ditching the bikes!

Need further maintainance

Finally manage to secure our bike after trying 3-4 times and always fail. Not sure if there is an issue with the bike or booking system and we have been reporting this issue repetitively.

However, after today successful attempt, we were quite satisfied with the service. Hoping for smoother booking on most bike in the future.

don’t use anywheel

tl;dr: joke of a system, waste of time, points 1 and 2 are common, point 3 ruins your day when you actually plan to use the bike to get somewhere on time 1. constant lack of bicycles at parking spot despite map showing bicycles there 2. half the bicycles i have tried have had some kind of fault (eg faulty seat, faulty brakes) 3. i bought a pass, which is SUPPOSED to give you free 30-min rides for a certain period of time. i scan a bike. it doesn’t unlock. somehow the timer is ticking on my app. i decide to leave the bike where it is at the parking spot. i can’t end my ride, because apparently ending rides can only be done by locking the bike, but my bike never unlocked in the first place. i report it as an issue, take all the pictures that i’m supposed to, and submit my report. the app charges me $$ even though i have a pass for free rides. the charge drops my balance below zero. to continue using the pass i have to top up another $10 into the system.

Good service

Enjoying my rides so far. Not all bikes perfect, but generally can find a good bike within a few minutes. Saw some ppl complain bikes are messed up. Obviously some fools think it would be fun to mess up a bike, and it’s too bad they make the rest of us suffer (and themselves…) — but overall seems bikes are maintained and fixed etc. just rode ona brand new looking set, gears/seat/lights/breaks all great. Great service

Customer service is great, they promptly reply and solve issues fast. I haven’t had a problem using the app so far (I forgot when I started but it was a long time ago) so that’s good. However, I think the amount of bikes can be increased! Granted, it will be hard to always make sure there are bikes everywhere as people use them and they end up elsewhere so I understand. Although it is unfortunately too common to find broken bikes. I also understand this is fully not the company’s fault as these are the results of unappreciative people but it would be good for someone to check bikes every now and then to make sure. There are also lots of people who lock the bikes with their own personal bike locks which I’m sure is violating some laws? Other than that, great experience so far!

good quality but difficult to find bikes

As per title. Some bikes cannot be located physically despite being shown on the map. Bikes are generally of good quality but it can be hit or miss. Downside is that it can be very difficult to find Anywheel bikes.

Suggestion: would be great if there were bikes for shorter humans (~150 cm). My mom wants to try and it helps her get active physically. However the seat at the lowest position is still too higher for her to ride safely.

Want to be a long term subscriber of Anywhere, but the only concern is the problem of finding bikes around my area, although I live right next to Potong Pasir mrt. Never gonna use it again

The app changed travel time from 1h to 30 minutes without any warning, so it will penalize you with 50 cents because of overtime. This is not a great sum by any means, but when you purchase a pass and go minus, the pass simply won’t work even if you paid for it. There’s also no way of topping up with an amount smaller than $5.

All these things work great together in favor of the developer - you’d always have to top up a considerable sum even if you’re an occasional user.

This dodgy change and the payment scheme in my opinion is absolutely dishonest way of doing business, therefore I’m never using the service again.

Updated review

After almost a month of using it, here’s my opinion. Customer support generally reply and resolve issues fast. Recommended to go by email. As for the app, it’s really straightforward to use. However maybe for the reporting & refund of faulty/locked bikes/etc could be done better. It’s troublesome to email just to get my $0.50 back. Also, it will be good if there’s like a 5mins grace period to test the bike. Will be supporting this as I really hope they can do better to expand their service and fleets.

In addition, a reminder to those users that using this service. Please do not be selfish and lock the bike up or to bring it up to your hdb floor.
