COMMON ISSUES
Directed to app.singpass.gov.sg when tapping on the QR code during login?
This is due to a delay by iOS at times in retrieving the required configuration file (Apple-App-Site-Association, or AASA in short), which is necessary for QR code tapping (Universal Links) to work.
Here are some workarounds that worked well with other users experiencing the same issue:
• Try again later. Most users reported that iOS managed to retrieve the necessary configuration after some time.
• Restart the phone once (or twice), and wait for a couple minutes for iOS to initialise the Universal Links for the Singpass app (as well as all your other affected apps).
• Uninstall the Singpass app from your device, then download the app again from the official App Store.

Bought a new phone recently? You can now set up Singpass app using your old device. Simply follow the on-screen prompts to get started!
1. Make sure you still have your old device with Singpass app installed
2. Download Singpass app on your new device
3. Log in using your Singpass ID and password

At first I was unable to login automatically, the app said my browser (Safari, no update before thing happens) doesn’t support auto log-in, I had to opt for login manually. Now, the tab to login manually is nowhere to be found anymore.

Singpass Face Verification
At first, I thought that the face verification was very good. But up until recently, my mom is dealing with cancer, and unfortunately, our family was unable to remember her singpass password, so we tried to reset it and when we had to go through face verification, my mom had tried multiple times to get it to work. One thing to note is that my mom has pigmentation around her face, which I believe was the reason why it was unable to identify her correctly, is there a way for this to be solved? We decided to go for the pin to be mailed to our house, but I can't imagine how it would be convenient in the future.

Messed up my whole password key
I dont know what happened. I just wanted to log in HDB resale portal to look at flats to buy. Then the app said something expired and I had to setup again. And then it is a whole lot of password or ID wrong. But I had saved my password with the autosave function with iphone because the app said my password is too easy to guess (thats why i use the phone function to remember). Even when I reset my password and confirmed that my Singpass Id is correct, the app still wont let me continue, citing wrong password or ID again. Then when I decided to give a super difficult password and manually remember it and they say the system detect I had changed my password and ask me to try again tomorrow.
So, is it because I cannot save the password using the iphone app and have to manually key in the Singpass ID and password, thats why they cannot detect, or what? It is frustrating. The portal, app and all, so many platforms for different services.

Singpass System and MyInfo handshake not real-time?
Updated personal details, clicked Refresh Cards, yet APP still showing previous old info. Likewise for MyInfo, despite Singpass help desk confirms system seeing updated info already. CSO advised to wait 1 day for APP refresh. Is kind of strange, backend system already captured updated details but MyInfo still grabbing old news.
Kindly speed up the handshake so that as soon as I have updated personal details with face verification, I can instantly update organisations with MyInfo. 24 hours wait is a drag with no value-add, what do you think?

Please turn off your face verification function ! It doesn’t work at all ! Keel telling me network error despite my network connection is good. Why don’t you create an alternative verification method?? This is so frustrating and I can’t access any government website now !!

From SPF to login via Singpass QR
From SPF e services login via Singpass QR, after successfully cleared by Singpass, both options given were not able to bring me back to SPF e services.
Submitted many times with 1 star were not accepted, reason given as nicknames taken. No choice, try to change the rating to check if ok for submission.

Facial Recognition does not work
This app forces you to do facial recognition but the software isn’t working and is unable to recognise my mother’s face. Been trying multiple times, different lighting, different angle but the app doesn’t properly recognise.
Tried writing to support but it gives a totally canned and generic response saying it is essential for security without giving solutions to solve the problem. This is precisely the reason why the elderly are wary of technology. I found the experience of setting up and using singpass for my mother incredibly frustrating, tedious and difficult. This is not the only complaint- scroll down the critical comments and you see several complaints of the same nature.

Urgent Help - App can NOT be opened after the latest update
Dear team,
Thanks for the work on SingPass App. I want to bring to your attention that the latest update (version 18.1.1) is causing crash with iOS 13.3.1 and the App STILL CAN NOT be opened and used any more after installing the latest update. The issue happened since the last update 18.1.0 but has not been resolved with 18.1.1 update.
This is apparently causing lots of inconvenience especially when it is clearly stated that App should be compatible with iOS 12+ but it actually is not.
Please kindly look into this urgently and fix it for us as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for the urgent action and efforts.

Free app scam & forced biometric enrolment
App says it’s free, but forces you to add payment method before downloading & now bill comes back saying 10 bucks charged to iTunes/mobile account. No purchase/payment/billing records found in app purchase history. What’s even worse is that once you download the app, you’re forced to do a biometric enrolment of your face before you start using the app for digital IC. Downloaded the app coz I forgot to bring my IC over for verification to enter secure premises. What a great way to con your ppl & call it digitalisation/smart nation. Shame.

Time to allow multiple devices
Too tedious to always have to reach for the same device whenever I need to sign in, especially since I carry 3 phones and a tablet, and if the only phone with SingPass is charging in another room. Having only a single device with your set of digital credentials doesn't make it any safer than multiple devices and in fact could even be more risky as you can't promptly do anything to prevent a lost device from being abused if you have no alternative access to the SingPass profile. By the time you get to a CC or other SingPass service counter to change your password, the only device could already have been used to compromise your data and accounts. What's even more incredible is you refuse to let us activate SingPass on more than one device but actually allow one mobile number to be tied to multiple SingPass accounts. If family member info is stored on a lost phone and it gets broken into, then it would be not one but at least two or more SingPass profiles that would be compromised.

Previously, I reset my SingPass App then I tried to setup it again but it didn’t work causing inconvenience and frustration. It turned out VPN is the one causing all these inconvenience and frustration. Registration major problem
Whenever I try to register any course for my kids , the site says CREATE ACCOUNT . When I try to do the payment somehow it says login again . This is not the first time this problem I have faced but this has been consistently happening. Because of which I have already lost few online promotions from previous years n this year too for registration which is online exclusive . Why display my IC once I open the app??
The new design is really unappealing, I wanted to scan in for some administrative matters, but when I opened the app, to my horror, the first thing that appears is my ugly IC photo that I took eons ago, there isn’t even the option of changing the photo. I wish the UX team had done some public survey before doing this design…imagine if you are in public, anyone who see your phone can tell if you are SG citizen or PR from the colour of the digital IC…

But sadly Govt pushing digital IC, so I never bring physical card out, but every time go NUH they need scan IC Barcode but the digital IC barcode can’t work at all and the staff say is like that, system can’t recognise it.

Too much info released to vendor
When we use SingPass to apply for courses, our address, NRIC, DOB, have to be released. That is too much sacrifice of privacy. Some of these information is not needed. How old you are or where you live has nothing to do with your abilities and prerequisite to learn something. I’m not sure if age still plays a part anymore in being able to learn something when we are encouraging life long learning.

iPhone cannot start the apps
Restart and reinstall for so many times but the apps does not start up at all. Just hang at the loading page and then auto closed. IOS is at the latest version.
Called the customer support and he is really rude. Trying to explain the whole situation to him but he is really impatient and don’t even listen to what you said! Just asking me to send the email and immediately hang up the call! This is really unacceptable! And there is no reply since then! Please fix the problem!

Multiple Devices?
Seems I can’t do a simple login across multiple devices. Beside my own mobile phone, each time if I were to use say, a tablet, the App responded that I have deactivated my account. I will have to go through the inconvenient process of registration and activation all over again. Worse, I would still need my old password to re-activate. Hope Developer would improve on this as it is common nowadays for us to own more than one mobile device beside our own mobile phone. Thank you.

Keeps deactivating
I have only one device and have been using singapss on it. Since few months whenever i login it keeps deactivating. I tried reactivating many times and received email confirmation for same but if I login to singpass mobile, it deactivates again. Sent email to support and even tried calling customer care. No one even responds. App keep navigating to many ( not one) 2FA screens and lastly it says deactivated. I do work in IT but never encountered such looping issues. Activate > deactivate, for godsake someone please address this issue.

This is by far one of the best and updated apps in SG with all the latest trends from Apple. Consistently fast, smooth and gets what I need to do seamlessly.
The local banks’ apps should take a leaf from this team to improve and resolve their longstanding issues that just went on for months without any news.

A suggestion from me would be to have it auto-checkout based on location services picking up you physically leaving the location.

Hate the new Education card
This is a good app until recently someone decided to add in the education card to the profile. I had to relieved all those bad memories from my past. Because of this it feels like your past will always haunt you regardless.
In the future, HR will definitely ask you to show ur N / O / A level results for all interviews because it is convenient.
This new education card functionality is a deal breaker for me (even though you are able to hide it but you cannot remove it forever). I am uninstalling this app until the education card is removed.

Breaks mobile data- not M1 problem. Issue resolved.
TL;DR.
Excellent development team that listens and act on feedback. No issue works with M1. Not an M1 issue in the first place.
This apps safe entire can break mobile data. My iPhone data stops working and needed a restart to work again.

Read the earlier review. Indeed I need to enable /disable airplane mode for the data to work again.
I hope they will work with M1 to resolve this issue. M1 data do not have this problem on other app.

Log-In is a nightmare
I agree it’s a great app once you’ve set it up. But it is the log-in that is a challenge as it requires a stable network. Unlike other apps which can be installed easily, I am still trying to reinstall this app after deleting it 3 weeks ago due to an error prompt. I’ve tried reinstalling using Starhub WiFi and Singtel 4G networks but both are unstable, with internet connections breaking regularly. The Support Desk is useless, doesn’t check emails or coordinate a response, and perpetually gives stock replies. They ask for ID and contact details but no one calls even though I sent multiple emails. The experience has been frustrating. I’ve never encountered an app like this when it comes to installation.

App doesn’t work well on mobile data
It is noticed that the app does not work well when I’m out using mobile data.
Although the safe entry function to check in other family members are very much welcomed, it is pointless when it is not able to perform properly. The loading icon will just keep spinning and then return with a network unavailable message.
I also noticed that when this happens, it seems to affect other app that uses mobile data to malfunction for a short duration.
Really hope that there will be a solution soon to this issue.

Safe entry needs updating
Love the fact that you can do multiple check ins for family members for safe entry. However it should also allow selected check outs (not assume everyone is checking out together). So now when I send my daughter to Safra for classes, for eg, and I leave, I have to check out for both of us, which doesn’t make sense (and doesn’t help tracking). She isn’t old enough to have a phone, so she doesn’t have her own app. Perhaps something the developers can look into.

Seems to crash my 4G connection
Like it for safe entry but the app seems to slow down at the loading of locations. At times after I check in/out, my 4G connection is lost or extremely slow. Had to close the app and reboot my phone to resolve the issue. Happens almost all the time.

Makes life so much easier
I love this app, and have one request. I have used the app to check in my child and myself into a class that only she attends, after which I leave to check myself into another location so the governments records would have me at two places at once. I would love if I could check in my daughter who is minor without checking in myself.

Hangs and crashes
In this pandemic, I rely highly on this app to perform my logs for contact tracing, having to scan from point to point within Singapore. However, despite my dependency on this app, it has been giving issues such as prior to scanning at times, it just doesn’t load and basically break off all momentum. Everything just stops, it’s like something from within crashes and no longer functions until I restart my entire phone. I have been doing this recovery steps every single time it occurs, and usually it happens on a daily basis. I wish the team does something about this problem because it clearly isn’t an issue with my iOS, considering it is the latest firmware, even my own family and friends experience similar issues. Can you all do something about this? Thank you. It will be of great help to everyone else too I’m sure.

Keeps killing my mobile data connection
I love the features on this app, especially the SafeEntry function. However, whenever I try to use SafeEntry, it very often kills my mobile data connection such that all my other apps won’t have connection either. I would have to switch to Flight mode, and then switch out of it several times until it works. Imagine doing this when you’re in line to enter a building with several people waiting behind you.
The most disappointing part of this is many users have given the same feedback, but the developer gives a template response to absolve itself of responsibility.

To allow check-in of family members without checking in ownself
Currently it allows SafeEntry check-in of multiple pax from within the app. This is a good one, but even Better if to allow option to check-in family member without check in ownself.
Example: parent bring kids for tuition, parent typically don’t check in ourselves to the tuition centre but the kids are.

Something went wrong - last message
Everything went well after I changed my mobile phone. I fail to register....
And only solution advised by customer support was to reinstall again. And I did it for more than 5 times and yet still no success. Good job SG!

Using with Safe Entry
Sometimes when I scan SafeEntry QR quote it auto links with SingPass and checkin is a breeze. Other times after I scan, it will prompt me to key in my particulars. And occasionally when prompting me to key in my particulars (still don’t link to SingPass), it remembers my particulars. Three different scenarios possible at each scan. Is there a bug or is it my settings?

SafeEntry check in
Good that we can use the Singpass app to check in. But it should allow multiple check ins, because usually after entering a mall we still have to check into individual stores. Currently it seems to allow only one check in at any one time. So after checking into the main entrance of the mall, it doesn’t seem possible check into the stores without checking out of the mall.

Good software and poor support
I have been using this software to log into my Singpass application it is very convenience. Until I change my iPhone to 11 in last year November this software no longer working, I unable to register with my new iPhone. Contact help desk for help, they provided useless advices such as delete the software reinstall it or using different network provider. Finally they gave a Super answer that need technical team to update the software to fix the bugs this only happen in 2Q 2020. If this is the bugs then should fix immediately why need to wait for such a Long time?

can't even activate it
i couldn't even get pass the activation stage. once i sign in to my singpass account, the app prompts me to key in a new 6 digit passcode but there is no keyboard! all i see is a little cross and no where for me to type.
i've tried deleting the app and downloading again for many times, weeks apart and it has not been resolved. even the latest update doesn't fix the problem, and i'm using an iphone 11 with the latest OS.
says a lot about the rest of the app. i find it hard to trust something so unstable and buggy. won't be using it.

What an lousy government app
You know it’s all fake comments and ratings if they r written in perfect English. This. Is the worst app I ever use and it’s causing me a lot inconvenience! You leave us no choice with this app if I wanna check my CPF, I just log in and immediately the app just says I deactivated my account! This is the third time FFS! Are you gonna come down personally to my house and fix this or should I apply leave and go to a CC to reset again? How to claim for your incompetent? Apparently you can’t rate one star or the comments won’t show.

Bad experience
Not sure why this app receives close to 5 stars rating. The experience is definitely bad for me. Tried to log in and sign up for few times and always hang during fingerprint set-up page. Only works if I choose to skip the fingerprint set-up. Once I logged in, it’s showing error in my profile set-up page, indicating the need to reset my password and relog-in again. Please invest in some user test for this product before you launch it out to the mass, especially it involves sensitive info like SingPass details.

This app is useful and convenient. Just one feedback: Notification on lock screen doesn’t seem to work anymore. Already checked my settings and tried uninstalling and reinstall, the notification on lock screen still not working. Would appreciate the developers to look into it.

Incredibly crappy app
I have to downloaded this app to ease my singpass login for Healthhub app, but after two whole weeks of trying out for almost everyday, it still can’t work!! first week it kept prompting “wait for an hour later to access”, this week kept bouncing me between these two apps without any successful login. I might as well manually login for faster access, pure waste of time! now looking through the earlier reviews for this app, they looked so much like written by friends or employees, so fake....

Smooth Registration Process
Took me just 30 seconds to register and verify my identity for SingPass Mobile. Entire registration process is very convenient with just a few clicks. This app does make login into digital services requiring SingPass much smoother without the hassle of keying in too much information.
