Please do a remote with a keypad with alphabets. A smart tv will be smarter with such keypad as it just doesn't make much sense to have mainly control and arrow buttons on a remote for a digital tv that plays digital contents. Many thanks!

Keeps saying TV is offline

APP does not detect Samsung TV

APP used to work perfectly, but since last 2 updates APP will constantly and randomly say TV is offline. My iPhone is able to mirror to TV on WIFI the entire time this APP insists TV is offline. Used another iPhone, and yup APP says TV offline again but TV now can stream APPLE TV on WIFI, how can it be offline? Even after pressed ‘On’ button to reset TV, still APP will not detect TV even on same network. Turn off and on router did not help. Reboot iPhone dis not help. What’s wrong with this APP? Have updated to latest today. Just now it shows server connection error. After a few more tries of kill and open APP, still not detectIng TV. Gave up and checked later suddenly it was able to detect TV now. The second iPhone which I left APP open and did not reboot at all, also shows TV online now. Kindly fix this annoying issue on your end.

2 factor authentication send code fails

Many times the app fails to send the code to my mobile, yet after numerous tries it says too many codes have been sent and would require to call my mobile with the code.

I don’t think 2 factor should work this way.

Unnecessary location tracking

In order to control my TV with the app, the app required me to share my location at all times (not just while using the app).

No explanation was given for the continuous location tracking, so I uninstalled the app.

Respond slower after update to 2021/08 version

After updated to latest version, the respond for SmartThings seem much slower compared to before update.

Unable to add my Samsung Frame TV

Have added this device previously but now it is just dead in an offline state (even though the TV is powered on and connected to the same wifi network as my phone).

Tried to add this device again and at the step where it’s asks to turn on the TV with the remote control it times out with error code 05-201

Stability issue

I’m happy with this apps, very user friendly and good but after I have updated with the latest version, this apps become very unstable whereas always 1 of 5 units can’t or not possible to control for the other functionalities (can “on or off” only). This problem becomes very troublesome, so I have to use my manual remote to control the problem unit. Please solve this issue asap and I will give you 5 stars again.

Unable to connect

I am unable to connect my washing machine to this app after many attempts. It used to work when I first bought the washer. But after the updates I am unable to get pass the AP part of the setup as the washer does not appear on my list of wifi networks when in AP Mode.

Although app at current stage just allow the display status of washing machine. On the other hand for TV is just like the control and was able to seamlessly controlling my Q80R. Keep it up ad looking for my Samsung appliances at home!

I don’t understand why the app will not work without me sharing my location all the time - even when not using the app.

It says that it need to access wifi information, but this is not requires all access location update.

useless with samsung aircons

My 5 samsung top-of-the-range air conditioners always drop “offline” on the app then require re-installation ... and even that often doesn’t work. The samsung aircon service men just said it’s been a known problem with the app for a very long time.

Ease Of Use

The app able to connect my tv seamlessly as a tv control with pointer & also as a wireless. Makes my internet exploring via tv much easier compare to my old TV that uses a pointer remote to navigate. There are also some good features in this app that are fun to play around with.

Cannot turn in TV using the App

What is the use of the app when I cannot even turn on the TV using it? Do you not find it strange that we have to use a remote to turn it on then switch to use the app? The whole point of having the app is to be able to control the TV entirely without the remote. I do not see any logic of why I cannot turn it on but I can turn it off. Care to elaborate, Samsung?

Samsung digital lock

The Samsung digital lock didn’t show up as the select device list when creating custom automation. For some reason Samsung digital lock cannot be created as an action.

Using for the air conditioning. Any action is reflected on the aircon almost immediately but it takes the app another 3-10 seconds to process and be ready for the next command. Adding the fact that you can only change the temperature 1 degree at a time, it is too slow.

Slow and cannot load details

Server is super slow (compared to other smart home solutions). Setup with air conditioners and they used to be working but now can only see the status in the and turn on and off (as from the preview blocks on the main screen). The page of individual air conditioners can never be loaded. (Fixed IPs used)

Functions not as impressive as I thought. Q8 series for example, the controls overlap the iphone Xmax screen at the top area. Controls up, down, left and right are too small, where else the enter button is too big. Please improve more on the software settings. Thank you.

Does not inform me automatically via a notification when wifi hub is turned on or off as it used to. Was a great feature.

Does the software allow one to use the mobile device keyboard to type words on the Samsung TV search box? Or do you need to use the TV onboard keyboard because the latter is extremely inconvenient.
